Thievery

Large, ornately carved bookshelves filled the restricted section of the library. The shelves were alphabetized by subject, as were the books they held; at least, the ones with authors were. Finding an unclaimed tome here was not uncommon. With the knowledge held within some of these books, it wouldn’t be hard to figure out why someone wouldn’t want to be associated with it. One could find something covering nearly any topic here, if they had the time to search. Questionable bits of history, the details of long dead cults, rituals to commune with the spirits of Hell, and cookbooks for cannibals were all here. But Kain A’rael Strommen wasn’t interested in learning about ancient cults, spirits from Hell, contested historical facts, or the proper seasonings to apply to a spit-roasted dwarf. It's been a while, hasn't it?

So life happened. Lots of life. Hella life. And this got thrown on the back burner. For four years. Yeah, my bad. Anyway, I was sifting through my emails the other day and noticed that I got a comment... Five months ago. So I looked at the blog, and how terrible the writing was, and then considered deleting it. But then, I started stroking the beard I can't grow and thought about what's been going on for the past few years. Four years is a long time. That's like 1400+ days or something. And I'd been in and out of D&D groups, as a player and as a DM, writing huge amounts of original content, building worlds, making characters, and writing all sorts of backstories for them. If I could compile all of this stuff in a semi-logical manner, I'd have enough for a book. So I hit up my old HS creative writing teacher, pitched some of what I'd written about a character to him, and he told me that whatever the whole story ended up being, he wanted to read ever...
