It's been a while, hasn't it?

So life happened. Lots of life. Hella life. And this got thrown on the back burner.

For four years.

Yeah, my bad.

Anyway, I was sifting through my emails the other day and noticed that I got a comment... Five months ago. So I looked at the blog, and how terrible the writing was, and then considered deleting it.

But then, I started stroking the beard I can't grow and thought about what's been going on for the past few years. Four years is a long time. That's like 1400+ days or something. And I'd been in and out of D&D groups, as a player and as a DM, writing huge amounts of original content, building worlds, making characters, and writing all sorts of backstories for them. If I could compile all of this stuff in a semi-logical manner, I'd have enough for a book.

So I hit up my old HS creative writing teacher, pitched some of what I'd written about a character to him, and he told me that whatever the whole story ended up being, he wanted to read every sentence of it.

So I'm starting up again with all of the stuff I've written over the past few years, and I want every last bit of feedback from anyone who reads it. No, seriously. All of it. Whether it's "you're a shit writer and you suck because you can't grow a beard" to "for the love of god, please keep writing." Though I'd prefer to get constructive feedback.

In the upcoming posts, I'd like to introduce you all to Kain Strommen, who has taken over as my favorite character that I've ever made.

Keep an eye out for updates, and thanks for reading.

Regards,

- Z

  1. I was introduced to D&D earlier this year and found a link to Stealing Immortality on a Reddit comment not long after. I've read through the entire blog series twice since then, and just got on to begin reading it again. I am excited to see that you are posting new material! Looking forward to checking in on that periodically.

As another commenter pointed out, the link to the Stealing Immortality story is not presently working. I hope you get that sorted out, and good luck on your new material!
